Day 5 & 6

Busy weekend, I picked up the kids Friday night. Here's a quick recap of my nutritional yummies
Breakfast: Green juice (Kale, celery, green apple, cucumber)
Lunch: 1 kiwi, 2 cups of collard greens rolled up with some hummus and artichoke tapenade
Dinner: Romaine lettuce, bell pepper, alfalfa sprouts, tahini dressing, black olives, cucumber
Snacks: 2 kombuchas, 1 Green smoothie (banana, spinach, black cherry juice and almond milk)
I was really hungry at about midnight after nursing Connor so I had some plain popcorn (no oil or butter flavorings) It tasted HORRIBLE and I only ate about half a cup before guzzling water and going to bed

Today has been jam- packed with activities. Woke up to Connor's coos, got up fed the kiddos, got them all ready to go swimming, nursed Connor some more, then off to All-Star fitness for an hour and a half of water fun. I didn't swim much as the life guard pointed out I wasn't wearing an actual bathing suit ( I had like a nylon tank top thingy with shorts because I don't FIT into a bathing suit) DOH!
Came home, made the kids lunch, did the dishes, nursed Connor, made myself something to eat and let Connor take a brief nap before packing the kids up and dashing out the door with Connor in his stroller for a 2 mile walk (round trip) to Wright's Park. I let the kiddos splash in the water park area (ok, they got SOAKED) and then they played on the toys while Connor and I basked in the sun. We stayed for about 2 hours.
Back at home, nursed Connor who is now hitting at the keyboard as I'm trying to type this. Had the kids play on trampoline briefly then had them wash up and put on pjs for the night. It will be low key from here on out. Dinner up soon then movie time (Gnomeo and Juliet).

Here's todays run down:
Breakfast: Smoothie (Kale, spinach, almond milk, hemp protein powder, mixed berries, banana)

Lunch: Collard wraps with hummus and artichoke spread, 1 can of Amy's golden lentil soup (vegan) and 1 slice of whole grain bread with vegan butter

Snack: 1 Kashi granola bar

Dinner: Not sure yet but probably spinach salad with tahini and raw sesame seeds, then possibly fruit later as snack

Day 4

Wowee I have tons of energy today, very obnoxiously chipper.
Breakfast: grapefruit, lemon water

Snack: half a dragon fruit (delish)

Exercise: 1 mile walking jake to school

Lunch: mean green smoothi (kale, spinach  bananna, blueberry, cinammon, almond milk)

Then oliver wanted greek food and I knew he was going to whine about it so I went. He told me just get it for him but we both know my willpower fails me in the face of a falafel. Doh!!!! It has egg in it but I got mine minus the tzatki sauce. I also had a handful of feta fries. *hangs head in shame*

Exercise: 20 mins of jillian michaels  couldnt finish because connorman wanted to nurse. I ended up falling asleep for a few hours and woke up cloudy headed and grumpy. Seriously I felt like poop and felt restles yet un motivated.

Later my sister asked us to dinner at dennys. Suffice it to say it was not good, vegetarian at least.

Lesson of the day: dont give in to oliver

Day 3

Connor got me up at 630am  but I felt pretty energetic (weird!) so I made lots of green juice. Got Jake ready and walked him to school then came home, nursed Connor and we felt asleep until noon!! WOWSERS! Then got up and Oliver, Connor and I got lunch (veggie tofu pho) and ran some errands. Then I went grocery shopping, now I'm about to start my biology homework. I've had 1 cooked meal (lunch) and 1 cooked snack. Otherwise, all fresh and yummy.

Breakfast: 4 cups of green juice (cucumber, celery, lime, lemon, green apple, cilantro)

Lunch: Small veggie tofu pho ( I didn't eat the noodles) and 1 tofu spring roll

Snack: GT's Trilogy Kombucha and coconut juice

Dinner: About 4 cups mixed spring greens with raw pumpkin seeds, raw sesame seeds, zucchini slices and tahini (Amy's Green Goddess dressing) and some tofu slices ( I didn't eat a lot of it)

Day 2

0900: I actually jumped out of bed this morning ready for a huge green juice! I wasn't sleepy or grumpy, I acknowledged that I was awake and ready to go. Connor had been up off an on for the past hour and half prior to me rolling out. He was in a super good mood as well, as smiles and coos. So I left him snug with daddy and-proceeded to make about 9 cups of green juice. 4- for Oliver, 4-for me and 1-for Shanelle. Weighed myself this morning which I know is a no-no. BUT I now weigh 153.5. Today's goal is to only have 1 cooked vegan item.

15:00- About to put Connor in the stroller and walk to get Jake from school. I think we will walk to the Farmer's Market out on 6th ave as well and pick out something fresh to munch on. I ended up taking a 45 min nap as I nursed Connor. I feel Fabulous. Muscles are a little sore from the workout. And I wish I had more pears, that was the last one. It tasted heavenly.

1725: We walked about 2 miles after getting Jake from school, I had a lot of energy and it felt good to be out. For some reason I thought the Farmer's Market was on 6th but it must be way farther down than where we walked to, so we ended up at Caffe Dei and we tried a raw vegan macaroon and a kale salad.

Today's Goodies:

Breakfast: 2 cups of green juice (Kale, cucumber, celery, green apple, parsley and lemon)

Snack: 2 more cups of that juice

Workout: Jillian Michaels Last Chance Workout (HIIT)25 mins

Lunch: 2 cups of collard greens and 1 cup of veg refried beans with salsa. Connor played with the stem.. it was cute

Snack: 1 organic Anjou Pear (it was beyond delicious)

Workout: Leisurely walked 2 miles

Lite Dinner: The Kale salad at Caffe Dei (Kale, spiralized zucchini, red bell pepper, pumpkins seeds and tahini) DELICIOUSLY WONDERFUL

Snack: 2 roasted asparagus and 1 roasted brussel sprout (doh cooked!) and the rest of my kale salad

If I feel hungry later, I have a premade smoothie in the fridge. So that is my plan of attack.

Day 1

I feel excited about giving a high raw all vegan diet a go again. It feels right. I really want to have grrrreat health and that raw glow. Not to mention losing weight. I have created this new blog to hold myself accountable. Connor is now 3 months old, I am exclusively breast feeding so I will monitor how we handle cutting out of cooked food very closely.

Morning juice: cucumber, celery, green apple and mint (2 cups)

Snack: bananna

Lunch: brocc slaw (sliced brocc, cabbage, carrot, tahini,.veganaise, cilantro, chives) and 2 cups of leftover morning juice

Snack: avocado and some organic corn tortilla chips, cup of tea

dinner: smoothie: 1 cup almond milk (not raw) frozen blueberries, bananna, and hemp protein raw

2nd dinner: daves killer bun with vegan (boca) burger and collard greens
4 roasted asparagus spears and 2 brussel sprouts

Snack: 2 kiwis

Thus far I feel good, not as raw as id like but feeling hungry and a lot of temptations in this house

16:49 - so I was feelin munchie so I loaded connor up in the stroller and did a mile. Feeling a craving for bread but instead im sipping on my yummy blue smoothie.

I currently weigh 155 (gasp). No issues with bmilk production today. Normal nursing routine. I keep track of my cals and nutrient intake with the myfitnesspal app.

20:00- so the 2nd dinner while vegan was pretty heavy and left me craving hot food but im determined to sip water and tea

My calories came to 1450 for the day. When ive managed to go a whole day only raw my caloric intake will increase. Not too shabby for day 1

will continue to chronicle this journey....
